So where did Ktomics come from? For those that don't know thats our little startup in question . To answer that I figured I would put a little history lesson together.
- Sometime in 2003 : Co-Conspirator and I begin discussion of really cool app (Sorry I won't tell you what)
- Later in 2003: We come up with the name Ktomics as it includes a letter related to our project and sounds cool (like Atomics! and power and stuff )
- Still Later in 2003: We begin development
- Even Later in 2003: We stop working at the same place and development calms
- Sometime in 2004: I continue the name (with permission) and develop and sell several DotNetNuke Modules thru www.Snowcovered.com.
- They are now open source, and the Wiki module will soon be the core Wiki Module for DotNetNuke. You can find out more at www.ktomics.net
- Early 2006: I start refactoring that old project based on new technology.
- Mid 2006: Co-Conspirator and I take a look at the refactoring I was doing, we agree to kick things off again as its a project that needs more than one person.
- Early 2007: A client opportunity appears
- Now: We have a client, a down payment, an active development cycle, a plan and this blog to track thing.
Now some of you may be wondering "but that means you have been around for a while". While that’s "technically" true, selling a few DotNetNuke modules on www.Snowcovered.com is like selling the occasional trinket on ebay or craigslist. Its neither time consuming, nor a business.
